Description
An immature Common Grackle rests on a fallen tree in the wetlands of the Dyke Marsh Wildlife Preserve. An adult had just flown away when I noticed the young grackle. It's fascinating how different are the appearance of young and adult.

Great clarity and I love the old snag. I appreciated seeing this fine image and with the naming of the species, it is now featured on the home page of Wild Birds Of The World - A Nature Photography Group.

Thanks much, William. It's always a bonus when birds choose interesting perches.
